It also provides advance notice of the end of useful battery service life to allow you ample time to hot-swap batteries without ever having to shut down connected equipment. - Extended batteries runtime - increase your backup time

Using the protection software, you can independently control load segments, which are groups of receptacles on the rear panel of the UPS.
