By eliminating the need for a network video recorder (NVR) or other storage servers, Meraki MV cameras offer a streamlined solution for video management.

Technical Specifications

  • Supported MV Models: All MV models are compatible with the Cloud Archive License.
  • Video Playback and Export: Cloud archive enables video playback and exporting directly from the cloud.
  • Required Upload Bandwidth: Each camera requires an upload bandwidth of >1 Mbps.

How Cloud Archive Works

  1. Once the Cloud Archive license is applied, the camera starts recording footage to the cloud for the specified duration (7, 30, 90, 180, or 365 days).
  2. Existing footage stored on the camera before applying the license remains unaffected.
  3. Copies of video are stored both on the camera (except MV2) and in the cloud.
  4. Cloud-stored video is continuous, 24/7 footage.
  5. The dashboard prioritizes retrieving video from the camera unless specific conditions apply (e.g., camera unavailability or outdated timestamps).
